(Scroll down for (a kind of an) english version)
No license I guess! I did the same thing – found it, fixed it up, put it on my site. Nice to see the tradition continue 😉

I wanted to switch some weblogs from S9Y to Wordpress – the reasons for this switch may be debated elsewhere 🙂 – and in search of import-possibilities of the existing entries, I stumbled on the “Serendipity (S9Y) importer for wordpress” by Michael Tyson. The job has been properly made, but I was bothered by two things:
- the entries splitted in S9Y (body and extended) were not splitted with “<!—more—>” in wordpress
- tags were not imported
Both I just adapted themselves. And now, there’s the modified version 1.3: Download
In terms of the license, I quote from the email from Michael:
No license I guess! I did the same thing – found it, fixed it up, put it on my site. Nice to see the tradition continue 😉
That means: Michael has the script from Technosailor, and I have it from Michael – it might be useful, and who can improve it, should simply continue this “tradition” 🙂
Installation:
First make a backup of your databases and the respective installations of Wordpress and Serendipity! Put the file serendipity.php in the directory wp-admin/import and start the import in the Wordpress-Admin-Backend.
Guarantee for nothing: Although I have used the script several times for myself (S9Y 1.3.1 -> Wordpress 2.6.3), I can not guarantee that it works correctly. For those who are using it – you are doing this at your own risk, during the import data will be changed in the Wordpress-Database! It’s very important to make a backup!

Update: Jon has made some modifications and released a new version: Serendipity (S9Y) importer for Wordpress 1.4
